The prize was awarded by the curators of the Gymnasium to Gerhardus van der Funk Sevenster 'ob insignes, quos fecit in literis, progressus', after his examen on July 19, 1850, and is signed by Willem Frederick Keuchenius and the Rector P.J. Costerus (member of the Dutch parliament in 1849-1850). Who Gerard van der Funk Sevenster was, we could not find out. (See also J.
