Cloth. 22 cm (Ex Prize copy of the Gymnasium of Leiden. The original binding was removed, and replaced by a plain and dull cloth binding. The original printed prize has been preserved. It is awarded to J.M. van Bentem at the occasion of his promotion to the 4th grade, dated 'Idibus Septembr. 1869', and is signed by the Rector W(illem) H(endrik) D(ominicus) Suringar, and 6 curators of the Gymnasium, among whom the famous classical scholar C(arel) G(abriel) Cobet, professor of Greek at the University of Leiden. The others are C. Cock, the physicist P.L. Rijke, A. Kuenen, (teacher Hebrew at the Gymnasium). Two names are illegible) (Text & commentary in Latin) (Paper foxed and yellowing, and browning at the edges)
